For the first time in 2023, Gateway LLEN teamed together with a huge range of employers, industry associations and training partners to host a fun and interactive expo dedicated to careers, training, and employment for young people in Manningham, Monash and Whitehorse.
The large-scale event featured over 70 exhibitors across a range of industries, and attracted as over 700 young people.
The aim of the Careers Expo was to host a fun and interactive event dedicated to all things careers!
The decision to host our first careers expo was derived from school consultation where:
“I wanted to write to express my sincerest thanks for such a wonderful opportunity on Thursday! I was so impressed with the level organisation, variety and hospitality on offer and goodness, did I get to talk to young people or what??
Thank you, it was a really valuable 4.5hrs and I had multiple meaningful conversations with several young people. The YP that came through were really engaged and seemed open to exploring pathways for support and development. In March 2023 Gateway LLEN hosted our first Careers Expo for Years 11 & 12 students from schools across the region. The Gateway Careers Expo provided a chance to reach students and educators in an informal and fun setting; connecting exhibitors with their future workforce, showcasing their organisations and the skills and pathways involved in an extensive range of trades and professions.
In 2023 the expo hosted over 700 young people and approximately 70 exhibitors. It was a day full of engaged conversation, networking, learning and the occasional freebie!
